About this site
I am Johnny Mulder. I write about technology for older adults — the devices that promise independence, safety and company, and whether they deliver.
How this site works
There are two kinds of page here, and I keep them clearly separated.
Devices I own. A small number. I wear an Apple Watch Ultra 2 every day. When I write about something I actually use, I tell you what I paid, what I use it for, and what irritates me about it.
Everything else. Guides built from what manufacturers publish and what independent sources have established. These pages carry no scores and make no claim that I have tested anything, because I have not. I would rather tell you where a fact came from than pretend to an authority I do not have.
Why the text is large
Because the audience is older adults and their families, and most sites in this category are set in small grey type. Readability is not a decoration here.
Money
Some pages carry affiliate links, marked as such. If you buy through one I may earn a commission. That never determines whether a device gets a favourable write-up.
Corrections
Prices and specifications change, and I will get things wrong. If you spot an error, tell me and I will fix it and note the change.
